The Task Force held a fundraising car wash on Tuesday, May 12th. With the washing and drying greatness of the Middle School After School students, the YMCA representatives, the Task Force, High School Student, School Staff and Community volunteers, we washed a lot of cars. Thank you for your patience and support of our efforts. We were very wet and soapy (especially the after school students), but it was fun for all and a great success!
A Safe Place After School: More than 100 middle schoolers enroll in free Brandywine Heights after school program.
After School Program Success
The after school program for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students has ended for the school year. With 105 students signed-up and an average of 30 - 40 attending each day, the program has been a great success this spring semester. The program was managed by the Tri-Valley YMCA with community volunteers, this semester, and we hope to continue in the fall. Your help and donations are greatly appreciated. To volunteer for this program for the 2015 / 16 school year, please contact Megan Dougherty, Branch Executive Director, Tri Valley YMCA of Reading & Berks County, 610-944-6515 or MDougherty@ymca-berkscounty.org, with your interest.
